This was a lunch; not related to FNPS but FNPS ladies were invited.

Oct 15 Scrub Point Preserve

This Lake County Water Authority Property, Scrub Point Reserve, in South Lake County is not open to the public, making this trip special.

Clasping wareaScrub Point is a peninsula of sandy upland, surrounded by Johns Lake, giving it both lakeshore and scrub habitat. Habitat diversity means plant, bird, and wildlife diversity; rare plants like scrub plum and clasping warea are found, along with birds as unusual as a snail kite. While there are no promises about what we will see this day, we will almost certainly see liatis and other Fall wildflowers in bloom.  Only nature knows what other sightings are in store for us. This is a ranger-led hike on sandy soil.

PEAR Park Wednesday 3/13/2019

Visit the Wildlife Watch Post area, then a quarter-mile walk through the scrub restoration area to the Butterfly Pavilion. Next, walk to the Shady River Trail to see plant species.  Return through a restoration area. Directions to PEAR Park.
