Sumter Landing The Villages Environmental Club invites you to our annual Earth Day Celebration on Friday, April 22, from 3-7 p.m. at Sumter Landing. Master gardeners and The Florida Native Plant Society will be there to answer your questions about gardening. Florida-friendly plants and locally-grown organic vegetables will be for sale. Learn the latest about: climate change, water conservation, recycling, fracking, renewable energy, GMO’s, and protecting our animal friends.

Enjoy our folk music trio while you learn how to care for our beautiful Earth! Attend 'Tent Talks' on Butterfly Plants, Native Plants and more by UF/IFAS Sumter County Extension Services Jim Davis. 3pm to 5pm

5th Annual Landscape & Garden Fair/Lake County

This Garden Fair is well worth the trip to UF/IFAS Lake County's Discovery Gardens in Tavares. Please check out their website at: www.lakecountyfl.gov/gardenfair.

Date: Saturday, April 16 - 9am to 4pm; Sunday, April 17 10am to 3pm
Locatrion: Lake County Agricultural Center, 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares, Florida

Discovery Gardens is nestled on over four acres behind the Lake County Agricultural Center and features 24 themed gardens, including a string of lush courtyards and five specially designed children’s gardens.

National Public Lands Day

Silver Springs State Park
Enter at 5656 E Silver Springs Blvd Ocala, FL

Join park staff and volunteers Saturday, September 26, 2015 9am-11am to restore gardens and natural communities in the park.

Join us for interpretive tram tours through an active restoration area.

Tour times: 12:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00 and 2:30.

Bring your favorite pair of gloves and a water bottle. If interested in helping to remove Taro, bring rubber boots for the mud! Limited numbers of gloves and boots are available.
