Scrub Point Preserve

Scrub Point is a peninsula of sandy upland, surrounded by Johns Lake, giving it both lakeshore and scrub habitat. Habitat diversity means plant, bird, and wildlife diversity; rare plants like scrub plum and clasping warea are found, along with birds as unusual as a snail kite.

This Lake County Water Authority Property in South Lake County is not open to the public, making this trip special.

Bring binoculars, water, bug spray and wear appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes.
