This is a unique opportunity to visit an ancient island. "Lake Wales Ridge is a narrow ridge that runs north and south through the Florida Peninsula. Many years ago, ancient ocean levels rose and covered nearly all of present-day Florida. The ridge became an island on which the plants and animals continued to evolve in isolation.

Time and place to meet:
We will carpool from La Hacienda Rec Center - meeting in the back - stand alone -parking lot facing away from the Rec center. Coming in from Paige Place it will be on the right. We will meet at 10:30 am.
