FNPS - The Villages Chapter at Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale 2018

The Villages Chapter of FNPS participated in the Sumter County Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale on March 24th along with 70 other vendors. The event was held at the Wildwood Community Center. Volunteers moved 150 plants 1-gallon plants from Green Isle Gardens and 40 additional member donated plants to the site, set up the tent, tables and signs on Friday afternoon. The actual sale began on Saturday morning at 8:30 am and lasted until 2:30 pm.
This event draws well over 2,000 local residents. By the end of the day we had sold all but one little passion vine. The vine will be cared for and placed in the member chance drawing at the April general meeting. The sale of the 190 plants raised a net $450 for the chapter.
We also sold, or with the purchase of 4 plants, gave out the FNPS Central Florida native plant brochure. Customers were also given our chapter meeting reminder card and offered Society applications.
Thank you to all members to helped with this event and those who came by to purchase plants. You are what makes our chapter successful.
