Last Thursday, FNPS asked members to attend one of the 8 public meetings scheduled for Tuesday the 27th – yesterday! – to voice your objections to these outrageously incompatible facilities being proposed for the Parks. The very next day, we had to provide an update announcing the meetings had all been postponed due to “overwhelming public interest”. This means that overwhelming public opposition to the proposals induced a decision to delay the meetings.
They want to take away native Florida and put in golf courses and hotels under the guise of providing more public access to state parks. Doesn't Florida have enough golf courses? Is our state so poor that we must raise money by destroying our state parks?
